Questions landlords ask
Can tenants pay straight to my paybill?
Yes. Payments from the Pay rent link Rent Master sends on WhatsApp are recorded as they arrive. Payments made straight to the paybill, or another way, are forwarded as an SMS or imported from your bank statement for your team to confirm.
Can I manage hostels?
Yes. Hostel rooms are let by the bed, so each occupant has their own lease and the room shows as partly occupied until it is full.
I am an agent with several landlords. Does it work for me?
Yes. An agency account holds many landlords, and each landlord gets a statement for their own properties.
Do I need an accountant to use the books?
No. Entries post on their own from payments and expenses. Your accountant can still open the ledger and trial balance whenever they need them.
Does Rent Master take a share of my rent?
No. Rent goes straight to your own paybill or bank. You pay a flat monthly or yearly plan price, and any M-Pesa paybill charges are between you and Safaricom.
